Of course, I would point out that it appears that as the government has grown, the more God has been pushed out. I think that is what the government wants, it it benefits them for people to look to them instead of looking to God for answers. By and large people in America feared God, and if they didn't they feared the people who did fear God. People who abused children would have either been killed by the child's family or tried and put to death by the court system.
