We the Evil, Ruthless, and Uncaring People – Part 1

It’s amazing how angry people get when you question government programs and regulations. Usually, they do not backup their undying faith in government. They simply use obscenities. What causes this devotion? I simply don’t get it. Government’s consistently lie to us. They only pretend they are going to keep their word during elections, and then after they are elected, they break almost every promise they make. They even have the nerve to laugh about it. Remember Nancy Pelosi and her “A lot of promises are made on the campaign trail. Hahahahaha” What? This is what inspires complete, unquestioning devotion to government?

Liberals constantly tell us about the selfishness of their fellowmen. We are supposed to believe that neighbors would sit idly by watching their neighbor starving to death, so the government in all it’s compassion must steal everyone’s money to make sure that doesn’t happen. We are told that without the government, it would be complete chaos. People would be killing each other in the streets. Without regulation, companies would be killing their customers with poisons and crappy products. Without welfare, people would sleep in the streets dying beneath our feet as we all just walk by not caring. Charity is fine, but there just isn’t enough caring people to donate enough to take care of the poor. Doctors aren’t compassionate enough to provide low cost or free services to the poor. Basically, we are all just a bunch of barbarians, and luckily for us the government keeps us civilized.

Really?

Were we really worse off when we had less government? Were people less friendly and compassionate 100 years ago when government was smaller? Were families and neighbors further apart than they are now? Did charities and foundations not get enough donations to create library systems, universities, and the like? Were people killing each other left and right? Were companies killing people with poisons and death contraptions? These are all just scare tactics to make us beg for more government. We are told we need government to protect us from each other. In order to protect us, we surrender our rights to the government. We grant them the sole right to use force against us. We allow the government to steal, kill and harass us.

All these claims are no different than the neocons’ claims that we need to be deathly afraid of arabs and communists. This too is just to scare us and have us begging for more government. There is no way Muslims could conquer a free people such as those in the United States. The Soviet Union couldn’t have conquered the US even if all the dominoes fell. As long as a people have the right to bear arms and value freedom, they will remain free. I’d love to see a country try to invade the US with 200 million civilian guns and another 100 million professional arms in use. The only way this is possible is if our own government takes our guns from us. Of course, if they do that, then they’d really claim only they can protect us.

So what is the truth then? The truth is the government lies, cheats and steals to get more power. It could care less about protecting or providing for us. It is constantly looking for angles to exploit. Then it creates massive media campaigns to convince everyone they are in danger and the government alone is the only one who can fix the problem. How do they propose to fix the problem? Do they really have anything to offer? No, of course not. We all know the government produces nothing. It’s no different than the mob. The mob didn’t produce anything. It just stole production from others, and then redistributed it. It takes resources at the point of a gun, and then uses it to purchase more power for itself. Then the government and all their sycophants tell us they are doing it to protect us.

Can someone tell me why we are supposedly a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, but then we are told the people are too uncaring, ruthless and selfish? We are supposed to believe that in general the people won’t take care of their friends, families and neighbors, because they are too selfish. The people would exploit each other. They would kill each other and steal from each other. But then we are told we are governed by the people through democracy. How can we trust this democracy if the people are so evil to begin with? How can we trust our elected officials if they are us, and they are also selfish, uncaring, ruthless people.

The government is more like an abusive spouse who tells their victims they are just keeping them in line. Without them, the victim would have nothing. They couldn’t fend for themselves. The abusive spouse is really protecting them. As citizens we collectively buy into the abuse. “Yes, I know he/she beats me, but I really deserve it. I was wrong.”

Really? Wake up already. The government needs us. We don’t need the government. The government needs us so they can siphon money and production from the producers in society to fill the pockets of a select few. Does TARP and bailouts ring a bell? In order to not be so obvious about it, they buy off the poor in society. They expand the number of poor through ever increasing entitlements in order enslave enough of us, so that they always have a big enough voting block to get more power. Like the abusive spouse, they tell those who get entitlements that only they will provide for them. They’d have nothing without the government. Their fellow man would neither offer them a job or a meal.

So, I can hear it now. The defenders of big government immediately say businesses and the powerful would run roughshod over all of us in order to gain more power and wealth. Hmmm, I hate to say it, but that sounds very close to what government does. Let’s just take a few of these “government is good” claims and see if they really add up.

….to be continued

It can be easily argued that we’ve become less compassionate towards our fellow man as government has become more intrusive.

Prior to all this government welfare, people hit on hard times would go to family and friends who would gladly assist. Now that there’s government assistance, the family and friends have neither the money nor the desire to help, because “that’s what government is for, that’s what we pay taxes for”.

I never understood why people inherently believe government is more benevolent than corporations. I guess it harks back to the saying “money is the root of all evil”. I used to subscribe to that school of thought, but then I realized that if that were true, all people with lots of money (Bill Gates for example) would only think for themselves, and that’s definitely not true. Money isn’t the root of all evil – Power is.

In the US, if you want to attain a lot of money, you have to provide something people wanted to buy (let’s assume for a moment that we don’t have crony capitalism)… there’s nothing evil about that. That improves everyone’s lives. Power doesn’t even factor into the equation.. If you want to attain a lot of power, you can really only do it by coercion. That is inherently evil.

John,

That’s what people don’t get. Everyone talks about the moral decay of society and how families have grown apart. I barely even know my neighbors. What they don’t get is this has happened more and more as government has grown.

I’ve been meaning to write a post on this, but I call it the Tragedy of Commons on the human level. I’m sure you’ve heard of Tragedy of Commons, which is how everyone assumes someone else is taking care of things when it comes to public lands, so they don’t clean up. Of course the environmentalist love this argument, but the problem is you don’t have it when the land is owned privately. Anyway, I think you have this same effect with the poor. Basically, the poor become a publicly owned group, and everyone assumes someones else is already taken care of it, so they just ignore it.

Government is merely an instrument of the people comprised of the people. As it stands, it is an instrument being wielded by moneyed interests. Government is what we allow it to be, and currently we allow it to be set up and controlled by corporate interests.

So long as people keep focusing on distraction/wedge issues like gun control and equal rights we will never be able to remove the influence corporate interests exert on our country and the entire world.

Part of the problem is that there is too much going on in government to keep abreast of all the issues. You elect someone you believe shares the same ideals you do, but then that rep completely changes after being elected, and now votes solely on party lines.

The mainstream media was supposed to be the referee in this – keeping politicians on both sides honest and calling them out where applicable, but that seems to have ended for the most part. Now most of those outlets are basically shills for the liberal agenda and progressivism that’s destroying this country.

Blogs seem to have picked up the slack, except that even they seem to many times be hypocritical – they’ll call out 1 side of the aisle but not the other when reps do dumb things.

Corporate interests will only be removed from politics when politics is removed from business. As long as Congress dictates who wins and loses in business, there will be corporate lobbyists trying to make sure the gun of government is pointed at someone else and not them.

Government isn’t supposed to be an instrument. It is supposed to protect individual rights. It is only after it was considered an instrument used to get extra benefits, did it become a tool of the moneyed interests.

Also, gun control isn’t a wedge issue. It’s one of our human rights, and it’s the only line of defense between freedom and slavery. You can hand over your wedge issue if you’d like, but I don’t trust the government or the moneyed interest enough to hand over privately held arms. Also, don’t know what you mean about equal rights being a wedge issue. Equal rights is what the country was founded on. The problem now is we dont’ have equal rights. We have group rights, and you only have rights if your group has power or enough money to buy rights.

You want to get rid of the influence of corporate interests, you have to get rid of government or at least make it small enough that it does nothing but a few things like …. well I can’t think of anything that’s worth them doing. They pretty much suck at all of it.

Well biz had it’s chance during the industrial revolution, and we saw children crushed under carpet presses in order to keep the line moving.

People are scum all over, and we have to keep a balance. Too much gov, bad…too much corp..equally bad.

People still die in factories, construction, fishing, etc. It’s the nature of dangerous work. The great thing about the free market is you can decide if you want to take a dangerous job or not. Government on the other hand is only force. You can not choose. It’s the gun to the head, do what they say or else.

To go back to the industrial revolution is a stretch. Why not go back to the agriculatural era? How about slavery? Times change. It’s not because of government that we were able to get rid of child labor. It was because productivity increased to the point where children weren’t needed to work anymore. Why do you think there is child labor in other countries? Do you think they just hate children? It’s because they have increased their productivity to the point where the parents can produce enough for the entire family.

“The love of money” is the root of all evil-all kinds of evil. Usually people with a lot money cannot handle it, and they crave it even when they have it. They will even hoard it over helping others with it. Power is something that people with money have. They can lord it over people because they have money. There are people who have a lot of money who spend most of it on helping others and very little of it on themselves-but they probably comprise less than 1% of those who have a lot of money. The people who are the most giving are the ones with the least amount of money. Go figure?

People do love power even more than money; however, the love of money is the beginning of most of the evil that is going on in this country. Even a 5 year old could tell you that we need to run things differently in this country in order for this country not to implode upon itself and fall victim to the one world government that is in the stages of forming. But the people on top want power-and if they can control the masses, they have the power. And they start controlling people by controlling the money…dictating what kinds of jobs you can have, if you can buy a house, and what have you. And eventually, people will have to choose between serving the Antichrist and taking the mark of the beast or not eating. Luckily the suffering for the people who decide to serve God during the tribulation that is coming, will only suffer temporarily.

So money isn’t really the problem from what I just red. It’s gov’t. Gov’t is what is controlling the people via money. There’s an easy solution for that.

‘liberals constantly tell us’ – this is when it becomes apparent that you are more interested in bashing liberals than actually making an interesting point.

It’s like people who say ‘I’m not racist, but…’. They have often already lost people on that one phrase.

You seem to enjoy making huge generalisations… I would probably describe myself as liberal, however I am not a fan of too much control from government, however on the flip-side I can see that we need some form of government.

I can see the positives of capitalism, however it is the worlds relatively recent obsession with extreme-capitalism that is making people less caring and more greedy. America likes to think of itself as a Christian nation, however they are the most selfish nation on earth. And please note that giving money to charity is often down to ego or wanting to get in to heaven which is a form of selfishness. The real caring people actually DO the charity work themselves. It is zero hassle to throw a charity some money in order to boost one’s ego, however to really do charity is to actually put time in and not money.

The Soviet Union (socialism is alive and has conquered the US .

So what is the truth then?

you are about to lose your right to bear arms after this last school shooting-actually they do not have to take them as people are demanding gun control just as planned
